General overview of UW: The work in this community is quite unique. Over 100 partners to help in emergency times for our community (house fires, food, etc). The mission changed several years ago to help prevent some of these situations. Four areas of focus: Education (increased graduation rates from 70% to 82% over last 5 years), Financial Prosperity for Families (job training, debt counseling), Access to Health Care, 10 Year Plan to Stop Chronic Homelessness (homeless for a year or more, recurring homelessness, cut homeless population in this community by 58%). Every dollar given has a $12 return to the community. The United Way is making it better for generations to come.
